Bajaj Auto sales in July 2022: the company records a 6.5% increase over last year

Bajaj Auto Limited has released its sales breakdown for July, with the figures showing the company recorded a growth rate of 6.48% on its sales figures compared to the same period last year. However, of its six 2-wheeled models, only two – Chetak and Pulsar – saw an increase in sales, and each of the other four – CT, Avenger, Dominar and Platina – saw a decline.

Up to 3,002 units of Bajaj Chetak Electric were purchased last month, a massive increase from just 730 in July 2021, giving EV a huge year-on-year (YoY) growth of 311%. On the other hand, no less than 101,905 Pulsar units were sold in July, against 65,094 twelve months ago, giving it an annual growth of 56.55%.

Meanwhile, year-over-year numbers for the other four models were as follows: Platina (54,606 in July 2021, 48,484 in July 2022, down 11.21%), Dominar (806, 711, -11.79 %), Avenger (2,396, 1,256, -47.58%) and TC (27,962, 6,064, -78.31%).

Here are some key features of Bajaj Electric:

(1.) Chetak electric comes with a 3kWh lithium-ion battery which is connected to a 3.8kW motor. The EV generates a maximum power of 5.5 hp, while its maximum range in eco and sport mode is 95 km and 85 km respectively.

(2.) A 5 amp outlet is used to charge the electric vehicle battery; the battery takes about 5 hours to be fully charged. Bajaj offers a 3 year or 50,000 km warranty on the battery.

(3.) The scooter is equipped with full LED lights (headlight, daytime running lights, turn signals, taillights), front disc brake and digital dashboard (using bluettoth, can be connected to a smartphone).

(4.) There are 12 inch alloy wheels on each end; the front has 90/90 tubeless tires, while the rear has 90/100 tubeless tires. The front wheel has a master link type suspension and the rear wheel has a monoshock suspension.

(5.) Bajaj launched the electric version of Chetak in 2019. In June, the company declared Chetak electric had crossed the bar of 14,000 units sold since its introduction. A month later, the manufacturer has increased the price of the EV of 141,440 to current 154,189.
