Blink Charging partners with Bridgestone to provide Tier 2 IQ 200 EV chargers at 25 locations in the United States

Blink Charging Co. adds Bridgestone Retail Operations to its list of partners in the United States to supply its IQ 200 Level 2 EV chargers at 25 Firestone Complete Auto Care and Wheel Works locations across the United States.

Blink Charging Co. is an international electric vehicle charging network operating over 30,000 ports in 13 different countries.

In addition to hardware and charging services, Blink’s Network uses cloud-based software that operates and tracks connected charging stations and obtains all the data it provides.

The EV charging network kicked off in 2022 with a slew of new Blink charging products unveiled at CES in Las Vegas, Nevada.

According to Global News Wire, this included an HQ 200 home charger, an MQ 200 fleet charger and a Vision version of its IQ 200 charger, with 2 x 30-inch LCD screens..

The IQ 200 immediately became a popular EV charger for Blink, which recently announced plans to roll out thousands of them front and back of the house at GM dealerships across Canada and the United States. .

With its latest move, Blink is also looking to expand its network of IQ 200 EV chargers at Bridgestone outlets.

Blink to deploy 50 Level 2 EV Chargers

In a recent press release, Blink announced its new partnership with Bridgestone Retail Operations, a subsidiary of Bridgestone Americas.

Bridgestone Retail Operations sells automotive parts and accessories. It offers automotive services, tools and home appliances such as bicycles, toys, televisions, lawn mowers and motors.

Under the partnership, Blink will implement its IQ 200 EV chargers at 25 Bridgestone service centers as the company strives to meet the growing needs of e-vehicle drivers, according to Tire company.

Currently, Bridgestone Retail Operations operates a network of over 2,200 tire and vehicle service centers across the United States, including Firestone Complete Auto Care, Hibdon Tires Plus, Tires Plus and Wheel Works.

The initial deployment of the EV charger will serve 25 Firestone and Wheel Works locations, which will each receive a Blink IQ 200 Level 2 dual-port charging station.

Blink Charging Founder and CEO Michael D. Farkas said they expect demand for electric vehicles to increase over the next two years.

Farkas said more electric vehicles on the streets are driving a need for electric car services in addition to increased demand for convenient charging stations for electric vehicles to refuel.

The collaboration between Blink Charging Co. and Bridgestone combines cutting-edge charging technology with the trusted retailer, providing drivers with reliable electric vehicle charging at trusted automotive locations.

Farkas added that collaborations with other mainstream brands like Bridgestone are playing a vital role in furthering the widespread adoption of electric vehicles in the United States.

Blink will install its EV chargers in pilot locations in markets where the footprint of electric vehicles continues to grow. This includes Austin, Texas, Denver, Colorado, as well as Los Angeles and San Francisco, California. The other retail chargers will be installed in the next few years.

According to Electrek, Blink has not confirmed whether it will collaborate with another company, given Bridgestone’s large business footprint. For the moment, only the 50 chargers spread over 25 different sites are confirmed.
