COLLINS – Daniel A. Johnson, 65, of Collins, died on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at his home.

He was born on August 6, 1956 in Springville, the son of the late Ralph F. and Ruth M. (Timmel) Johnson. He married the former Cynthia Saad, who died before him on September 27, 2016.

From the age of 16 Dan worked with and worked on cars until he owned and operated his own machine shop, Dan’s Auto Repair, in Collins for over 40 years. Dan was a member of local antique truck organizations as well as St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Gowanda.

Dan is survived by four sons: Jason Johnson of Collins, Nathan (Laurie Marshall) Johnson of Brooksville, Fla, Brandon (Quincey) Johnson of Gainesvile, Fla, and Ryan (Maddie Best) Johnson of Collins. Also surviving is a brother, Donald (Pat) Johnson of Collins; one grandson, Austin Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends can call Tuesday, December 28, 2021, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., from Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 105 E. Main St. in Gowanda. A Christian burial mass will be said on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 10 a.m. in the Saint-Joseph Roman Catholic Church.

Interment will take place at Lakeside Cemetery in Hamburg.

Commemorations can be made at the Collins Center Volunteer Fire Department.
