Grand Theft Auto V tops Elden Ring in PS5 sales for March

Grand Theft Auto V beaten down Ring of Elden to become the second most downloaded PlayStation 5 game of March 2022 in the EU, almost 9 years after its release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

The shocking result comes after Grand Theft Auto V third-generation console version. Rockstar Games has dubbed the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game “Expanded & Enhanced,” featuring new visual modes, 4K resolution, 60 FPS, exclusive content, and more.

Not only is the number two position impressive for a 9-year-old title, but it becomes even more amazing given the fierce competition it faced. Both Ring of Elden and Gran Turismo 7two of the biggest releases of the year, were launched a few weeks apart between the end of February and the beginning of March.

Grand Theft Auto V tops Elden Ring in PS5 charts for March

As reported by PlayStation themselves, Grand Theft Auto V took the second position of the most downloaded PlayStation 5 title for the month of March 2022 in the EU, beating the likes of Ring of Elden, FIFA 22, Forbidden Horizon Westand more.

For all the Ring of Elden fans, you’ll be pleased to know that it reached No. 1 in the United States and Canada for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

But, nonetheless, a 9-year-old title with some slight visual upgrades beating one of the biggest releases of the year in the first month is still a huge accomplishment for Rockstar Games, even if only in the EU.
