System upgrade will strengthen data security and improve services, requires all customers to re-register
Water, wastewater and reclaimed water customers from Hillsborough County Water Resources will receive information by postcard and on their bills throughout April about upcoming changes to the county . online utility bill payment system.
On April 28, 2022, Water Resources will upgrade the online utility bill payment system to strengthen data security and improve services. This change will require all customers to re-register their accounts for online and phone payments.
Customers who have automatic bill payments set up through the county will see them continue uninterrupted, but customers will need to re-register to access the billing system to make changes. All customers who enroll in the new system will also benefit from more sustainable paperless billing by default and will receive their monthly billing statements by email, with the option to opt for paper bills.
Information needed to re-register:
- The 10-digit water resources department account number
- The last four digits of the Social Security number or federal identification number registered for the utility account
- A valid email address and phone number to complete the required multi-factor authentication process
Customer contact details will also be used to broadcast emergency alerts via SMS and email.
Logins to the old system will no longer work as of April 28, 2022. Customers who attempt to access the old system on or after April 28 will be automatically redirected to the new bill payment page to re-enroll.
Detailed step-by-step instructions for re-registration will be available at HCFLGov.net/WaterBill
Technical support is available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., by calling (813) 276-2700.
