NEW MILFORD — The city’s Republican Municipal Committee is planning many events over the next few months and has also held activities recently.

They said they have been focusing on voter registration recently and held an election campaign on May 21 in the parking lot of Alves Auto Sales (the old Southworth) and then again last week at the Teddy Bear Festival. They plan to hold more such events before the November elections.

They will have a booth at Riverfest in October and will host statewide and national contestants during those two days.

Their annual Reagan dinner will be held on October 13 at the Candlewood Inn and they will present CT nominees. Tickets will go on sale soon.

They will also be hosting a Get Out the Vote breakfast on the Saturday before the election, Nov. 5, at the Maxx in New Milford. This annual event returns after missing two years due to COVID-19 and is open to all voters.

They are also looking for interested members of the public who would like to fill vacant seats on New Milford’s appointed boards and commissions.

Members of the public are invited to attend their meetings. They meet the first Monday of the month at the town hall. Since July 4 is a public holiday, they will meet on July 5 instead; and there is no public meeting in August.
