Two Creeks, Wis. – Roger Lehrmann, 83, formerly of Two Creeks, died Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Woodside Lutheran Home, Green Bay.
Roger was born August 23, 1938 in Manitowoc County, the son of the late Henry and Grace (Buenzow) Lehrmann. He graduated from Kewaunee High School. On June 4, 1960, he married the former Karen Lee Rogalske at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Kewaunee. She preceded him in death on May 26, 2004.
When Roger was 14, he drove trucks for his father carrying milk cans and beets. In 1975, Roger and Karen purchased the farm from his parents and operated it until 1990. Along with Karen and her daughters, he employed many trusted farm workers. When his daughters were in 4-H and showing dairy animals, he would transport lots and lots of dairy animals to fairs in his stock truck with usually a small rider or two for the ride. Roger was a volunteer firefighter with the Two Creeks Fire Department leading many fires. Later, his truck driving continued with water trucks for Manitowoc County Speedway, where he ran the racing program, and Luxembourg Speedway, where he took his grandson with him to help pack the track in the Bronco. .
After farming, Roger and Karen went into delivering Auto Buyer newspapers and books. It delivered Herald Times Reporter, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Green Bay Press Gazette, Lakeshore Chronicle and Kewaunee County News. Her grandchildren were always ready to go with them and help deliver, as they then had breakfast at the Copper Kettle! He was involved with Manitowoc County Expo for many years – even served as its president for several years. He was very proud to have been elected to the State Fairs association! His greatest joy was his grandchildren to whom he rarely said “no”! He loved telling them silly jokes, taking them out to eat, teaching them to drive in the fields and changing a tire. He sat in the heat or the cold to watch their sporting events! There was never a dull moment when Grandpa and the kids were together. “Grandfather said” has been heard often! Roger was thrilled to be a great-grandfather and couldn’t wait to tease and be sassy with them!
Survivors include his daughters: Lori (Perry) Lauscher, Two Creeks; Lisa (Roger, Jr.) Olson, Eagle River; five grandchildren: Rebecca Lauscher (fiancé Cameron Ninos), Carolyn (Mark) LaTour, Nathan Lauscher, Elizabeth Lauscher (special friend Sean McKinster), Samantha Lehrmann; two great-grandchildren: RJ and Harper; five sisters: Marie Skarvan, Jean (Dick) Becker, Eileen Gretz, Luella (David) Soukup, Joyce (Don) Mueller; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
