OUR VIEWPOINT: Freeport Auto Stores Ordinance Needed | Opinion

0

There are two big reasons why Freeport City Council was wrong in its decision last month to drop its new ordinance governing repair businesses just two months after it was put on the books – resulting in a bad image of the city.

The first was that elected leaders appeared weak, ready to turn around whenever someone objected to their decisions. The second is that it leaves an unresolved issue that reinforces the perception many people have that Freeport is a ‘trash’ city, full of dilapidated buildings and broken down cars in commercial and residential communities.
