Parking dispute leads to shootout in North Miami; 1 hospitalized – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

NORTHERN MIAMI, FLA. (WSVN) – An argument over a parking space in north Miami led to one person being hospitalized on Monday morning.

The argument arose at Global Auto Repair in the Northwest Seventh Avenue and 120th Street area around 10 a.m.

Following a single gunshot, several vehicles were towed away and the victim was transported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the head. “I saw the tow truck arrive. I was here with a client, ”Leslie Erb said.

Erb owns a business next to Global Auto Repair and called a tow truck company to pick up a vehicle parked at one of his locations. It was then, she said, that a fight ensued. “My husband walked up front and said, ‘Call 911, they’re beating the tow truck driver,’” she said. “I went to get my cell phone and when I came back I heard the gunshot.”

Erb said she was out and noticed that one of the men had been hit. However, he was not the tow truck driver. “There was a lot of blood and he was holding her face,” she said.

According to the dispatcher’s audio, the tow truck driver was the one who initially called the police. “The complainant, the tow truck driver, informed him that he was trying to tow a vehicle when the victim started hitting him. ”

7News contacted the tow truck company about the incident, to which they replied, “No comment.”

So far, no arrests have been made.
