Stephen F. Shepard, Jr. Obituary


Stephen F. Shepard Jr passed away in the loving arms of Jesus on August 3, 2022, far too soon. He will be missed in unimaginable ways, but his family rejoices to know that he is no longer in pain and in the beautiful presence of our God. He was predeceased by his grandmothers, Tessie Shepard and Jessie Terry. He remains his beloved wife, Pamela, of 23, their beautiful children, Samantha and John Colm Sweeney, Stephen F. Shepard III and Sophia Shepard. Their precious grandchildren, Asher, Etta and Elsie; her parents, Janice & Stephen F. Shepard Sr; his siblings, Pamela and Jessie Henderson, Brian and Lynn Shepard and Robert and Angela Shepard; stepmother, Roberta Taylor; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Deborah & Stephen Kazmark and Kimberly & Robert McDaniel and many nieces, nephews, cousins ​​and many amazing friendships. Steve walked through life touching the lives of many with his servant heart, love for others, humble soul and timely humor. He showed admirable wisdom, and his children will go on stopping in the trials of life to ask themselves “what would dad have done? “. He was often a man of few words, but when he did speak it was profound. Steve had a way of finding beauty in everything, not just behind the lens but in all of life’s circumstances. His passions were inspiring; he had a love for nature, art, music and cars. He was an avid bowler and fisherman and was a great cook. He enjoyed spending time with his family, including his grandchildren who adored their “dappa”. Steve has held numerous sales positions over the years where he has always excelled, including his most recent job in automotive sales. For many years Steve’s passion for cars shone through as he worked on car detailing and refurbishing several private car collections. Steve’s exceptional work ethic, skill and dedication has seen him work on some of the finest cars in Broome County. “Steve, you set an example for our children, with incredible strength and perseverance until we will miss you beyond measure, and even though our lives will never be the same, you will be in our hearts forever…” The family will receive friends at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St, Port Dickinson on Thursday, August 11, 2022, 4-7 p.m. A celebration of Stephen’s life will be held at Calvary’s Love Assembly of God Church, 1315 Reynolds Rd, Johnson City on Friday, August 26, 2022, at 6 p.m.
