UTSA Basketball Show, presented by UT Health San Antonio, scheduled for 2021-2022

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA Basketball Show, presented by UT Health San Antonio, is slated for the 2021-22 season and will feature the head men’s basketball coach. Steve henson and head coach of women’s basketball Karen aston, UTSA Athletics and LEARFIELD Roadrunners Sports Properties announced.

The hour-long show will air on Ticket 760 AM, Varsity Network app and UTSA Athletics Facebook page live from The Sand Box (7280 UTSA Blvd).

Fans are invited to join Aston and Henson, and host Andy Everett, for the hour-long radio show every Monday (with the exception of the January 4 and 11 show, which airs on a Tuesday) throughout the season at The Sand Box. Each coach will be accompanied by a UTSA basketball student-athlete to recap the previous week and preview upcoming games.

All shows will be broadcast live in the San Antonio area on Ticket 760 AM (subject to change) and can also be streamed online at Ticket760.com and through the free all-in-one iHeartRadio app.

Aston is in his first season at the helm of the Roadrunners after serving as a decorated head coach in Texas, North Texas and Charlotte. Aston, 2016-17 Big 12 Coach of the Year, has won more than 285 games in her head coaching career, including 184 wins for Texas in eight seasons. She led the Longhorns to six NCAA tournament appearances, averaging 24.6 wins per year over the past seven seasons.

Henson is in his sixth season as UTSA head coach and is the third most successful coach in the history of the program. One of 24 former NBA players to serve as a college head coach in 2021-22, Henson – the 2017-18 C-USA Coach of the Year – is a member of the Kansas State Athletics Hall of Fame , where he was an athlete in two sports.
